This is simply to note a particular mechanism of white patriarchal power, namely "Step into my office, baby."

The patriarch invites the supplicant for justice into a space for the discreet conduct of public business. That discretion is rapidly subverted to become oppressive responsibilization as the supplicant is seduced away from justice in exchange for private compensation.

The phrase infantilizes and feminizes the supplicant; it takes ownership of the space; it is framed as a command.

It betrays the lack of distinction between public and private, of polis and oikos.
